What is Right to Information?

Right to Information (RTI) is the Queensland Government's framework for promoting transparency and public access to government-held information.

Under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) individuals and organisations have the right to request and access documents and data held by Queensland Government agencies and Ministers, unless providing access would be contrary to the public interest.

RTI aims to increase the availability of government-held information, promote equal access to information across all sectors of the community and uphold appropriate privacy protections for individuals.

Further information about RTI can be found on the Queensland Government Right to Information website.
