Manual of uniform traffic control devices

The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Queensland), within the meaning of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995, contains the design of, and the methods, standards and procedures in relation to every sign, signal, marking, light or device, installed on a road.

The 2003 edition (2014 issue) of the MUTCD is available at this site in read only format except for Part 3 and Part 4 which are printable.

The Part 3 document - Sixth Issue (including Amendment 1 published 5th May 2014) should now be used on all roadworks. For all roadworks after the 1st July 2014, this document shall be used.

MUTCD Part 3 - Works on Roads: Amendment 1 (5th May 2014)

Amendment has been made to Clause 4.10.2 on page 95 (sixth paragraph). It now reads:

Four cones at 4 m spacing should be installed on the centreline in advance of the Traffic Controller position, except where the Traffic Controller is positioned past a merge taper. 

Amendment 1 (05/14) provides instructions on inserting the update into a already purchased or downloaded 6th edition.
