The Department of Transport and Main Roads provides funding for not-for-profit community organisations to deliver road safety education initiatives through the Community Road Safety Grants scheme. The scheme consists of 4 funding streams:
Use the Online Grants Portal to view and apply for available funding opportunities. If you are awarded a grant, you must also manage your agreement through the Portal.
Register to access the Online Grants Portal
If you registered an existing user account before 2023, you will need to re-register. Individuals and organisations only need to be registered once.
To use the Online Grants Portal, you will first need to register as an Individual account holder. Once you've registered yourself, you can register your organisation.

Funding streams

Community Road Safety Education Grants provide an opportunity for not-for-profit groups to support local road safety initiatives that drive a change in behaviours and attitudes to road safety in local communities.
Objective
To support Queensland communities with the development and delivery of effective road safety education initiatives that support people to be safer road users.
Funding limit and delivery
Funding is available up to $40,000. Initiatives must be delivered within 12 months of when funding is awarded.
Applying for a grant
Two funding rounds are available throughout the year. The application submission period for each funding round is open for 6 months.

Funding rounds open in April and October.
Closing dates
The next funding rounds will close at 5pm on 29 September 2023, 29 March 2024 and 30 September 2024.

The Motorcycle Ride to Zero Grants are designed to help local organisations including motorcycle clubs and groups provide opportunities for riders to undertake post-licence training courses. Providing opportunities for riders to undertake these courses will support them to enjoy their riding whilst staying safe on Queensland roads.
Objective
To provide opportunities for motorcycle riders to undertake post-licence training courses to improve their safe riding skills and on-road behaviours.
Funding limit and delivery
One-off funding is available to support up to 100 motorcycle riders with subsidised participant fees to attend a post-licence training course.

Road safety education programs work across all ages to develop a broader positive community culture towards improving road safety. The programs aim to equip children, adolescents and young people with the attitudes, skills and knowledge they need to become safer road users.
