Find out if you are eligible and how to apply.

In Queensland it is compulsory for children to attend school at certain stages of their life. The Queensland Government provides educational facilities throughout the state. In areas where it is not feasible for the government to provide these facilities, assistance with school transport costs is provided under the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS). Service providers contracted by the Queensland Government can find information in the STAS service provider operations manual.

In addition to assisting students with school transport costs, the Queensland Government provides funding to eligible service providers to assist with the purchase of buses that are less than 5 years old. Each year, the department invites service providers to apply for financial assistance under the School Bus Upgrade Scheme (SchoolBUS). The objective of the scheme is to accelerate the introduction of rollover-compliant buses into the Queensland school bus fleet.
