Barwon Highway (Talwood - Nindigully) Weengallon, pavement widening
Pavement widening on the Barwon Highway has been completed to improve road safety, reduce ongoing maintenance demand and provide a better driving experience for road users in the area.
The Barwon Highway is a significant corridor for heavy vehicles travelling through South West Queensland and the Goondiwindi area. This vital road link services rural communities such as Goondiwindi and Talwood. It also provides local industry, including cotton and grain producers, access to adjoining highways west and south of Queensland.
Stage 1 of the project was located between Pinehills Road and Weengallon.
Stage 2 of the project was located approximately 10km east of Weengallon.

Current Status
Construction of Stage 1 was completed in September 2021. Stage 2 of the project was completed in May 2023.
