Current status

Works at Kingaroy urban intersections are complete.

These works included:

  • widening the highway at Harris Road, Evelyn Street and Prince Street to allow through traffic to continue past turning traffic
  • construction of a roundabout at the 4-way intersection of Knight, Walter, and Somerset streets. The roundabout has been designed to accommodate heavy vehicles and will reduce the potential for trucks to travel through residential areas on Kingaroy Street.

Construction is currently underway at Coolabunia, with various safety improvements including:

  • widening and strengthening of various sections between Petersen Drive and Sommerfelds Lane to allow for a wide centre line treatment which provides greater separation for motorists travelling in opposite directions
  • audio tactile line marking and raised retroreflective pavement marker installation
  • upgrades at Franklins Road, Petersen Drive and Muller Street intersections with the D’Aguilar highway.

Detailed design for the remaining section of the D'Aguilar Highway is underway and expected to be completed in mid-2024.

The design works include:

  • an intersection upgrade at Bushnells Road
  • road widening between Cafferys Road and Parsons Road
  • realignment of a section of road between Bushnells Road and Parsons Road
  • installation of wide centre line treatment.
