Planning is complete for the future widening of Deception Bay Road from 2 to 4 lanes, between the Bruce Highway and Park Road/Lipscombe Road intersection.

    Consultation

    An initial round of community consultation was undertaken in November and December 2021 to enable the department to understand the key issues and invite suggestions for improvements on Deception Bay Road.

    The department invited feedback on the preferred planning layout from November 2022 to January 2023. Comments reflected the 2021 feedback, highlighting similar themes that active transport, general safety, environment and road capacity need to be considered.

    Current status

    Planning is complete. Timeframes for detailed design and construction of this project will depend on future funding commitments and competing statewide priorities.
