Eumundi-Noosa Road, Emu Mountain Road to Beckmans Road, safety improvements

Construction is underway for safety improvements on Eumundi—Noosa Road for all road users, including bike riders.

The original scope of works included safety improvements from Emu Mountain Road to Beckmans Road. In March 2024 the scope of works was reduced to the section of road from Lenehans Lane to Beckmans Road.

Eumundi—Noosa Road is part of the department's Principal Cycle Network. The safety improvements will encourage safer, more frequent bike riding along this scenic route.

The project will deliver wide centre line treatments, left-turn lane markings at key intersections, safety barriers, road widening, resurfacing and sealed shoulders. This will reduce the rate and severity of crashes and improve conditions for all road users, including bike riders.

Signage, pavement marking and delineation alterations to improve safety.
Relocate and modify existing street lighting to suit the widened formation.
Relocate or protect utilities that may be impacted by earthworks.
Drainage works to accommodate widening and embankment works, including culvert extensions and reshaping drains.
Roadside hazard removal including vegetation clearing. Larger more mature trees will be retained where possible.
