Ipswich City Transport and Mobility Study
Ipswich is a rapidly growing and dynamic local government area. New neighbourhoods are emerging and existing communities continue to expand and mature. People's travel behaviours and expectations around a wider range of travel choices and modes are changing.
To help identify community priorities for the future of Ipswich's transport system, we are undertaking the Ipswich City Transport and Mobility Study.
The study will strategically investigate ongoing and emerging traffic and transport issues relating to:
- access to, within and through the area by road, passenger transport and active transport
- key connections via road, rail, and active transport networks to adjacent areas and core employment and activity centres
- transport challenges and gaps
- opportunities for improved passenger and active transport.
Ipswich has already seen rapid growth, which is forecast to increase significantly. This is creating pressure on the road, public, and active transport networks, which need to evolve to meet these increasing demands.
