Yandina—Coolum Road, South Coolum Road and School Road, upgrade roundabout

Construction is underway to replace the roundabout with a signalised intersection.

The project will better manage traffic flow and help ease congestion and queuing along this busy section of the network. The signals will provide safer access to Coolum State School and the nearby retail precinct.

  • Replace the current roundabout with a signalised intersection.
  • Install 3 new signalised pedestrian crossings at the intersection.
  • Remove the existing pedestrian refuge on Yandina—Coolum Road.
  • Install a new concrete footpath to connect the Barns Lane school bus drop-off zone to School Road.
  • Install new dedicated left-turn and right-turn lanes from Yandina—Coolum Road into South Coolum Road and School Road.
  • Install a new dedicated through lane on Yandina—Coolum Road.
  • Widen the pavement to incorporate these traffic modifications.
  • Install bike lanes.
  • Update signage and linemarking.
