The Pacific Motorway M1 North upgrade program is being delivered in a 3-stage rolling program from north to south:
- Stage 1 is the M1/M3 Gateway Merge upgrade which was completed in May 2020
- Stage 2 is the Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill upgrade and is currently in varying stages of construction, preliminary and detailed design
- Stage 3 is the Daisy Hill to Logan Motorway upgrade and is currently in the planning phase of the project lifecycle.

Beaudesert–Beenleigh Road, Milne Street to Tallagandra Road, duplicate to four lanes
This project will see the road duplicated between Mount Warren Boulevard and Tallagandra Road.
Bruce Highway—Cooroy to Curra
This project involves a 62km realignment and upgrade of the Bruce Highway to 4 lanes between Cooroy and Curra and is among Queensland's highest priority road projects.
Camp Cable Road and Edelsten Road, improve intersection
This intersection is identified for an upgrade due to the rapid expansion of local urban areas, increased traffic volumes and crash history.
Currumbin Creek Road – Bienvenue Drive intersection upgrade
The intersection of Currumbin Creek Road and Bienvenue Drive, at Currumbin Waters will be upgraded.
Direct Sunshine Coast Rail Line
We’re directly connecting the eastern communities of the Sunshine Coast to South East Queensland’s passenger rail network – making it easier to travel locally, and to and from the Sunshine Coast.
Garbutt - Upper Ross Road (Riverway Drive) (Stage 2), Allambie Lane to Dunlop Street, duplicate to four lanes
This project will deliver upgrades to Riverway Drive, between Allambie Lane and Dunlop Street, to improve safety and alleviate traffic congestion.
Linkfield Road Overpass upgrade
The department has been investigating options to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety and freight access for the Linkfield Road Overpass in Bald Hills.
Maroochydore Road, Pike Street and Killick Street intersection upgrade, design
The department has identified a preferred option for the future upgrade of Maroochydore Road, Kunda Park to improve the existing transport network by enhancing network reliability and improving access options.
Mooloolaba Road and Sugar Road intersection, upgrade
The Mooloolaba Road and Sugar Road intersection project is an interim measure to better manage traffic flow. An upgrade to the intersection will help to minimise delays, congestion and queuing, and improve safety along this busy section of the network.
New England Highway (Yarraman - Toowoomba), Borneo Barracks (Cabarlah), construct turning lanes
The department is working with the Department of Defence to upgrade the entrance to the Borneo Barracks from the New England Highway at Cabarlah.
Pacific Motorway (M1) – Daisy Hill to Logan Motorway upgrade
Planning is underway for the Pacific Motorway (M1) – Daisy Hill to Logan Motorway upgrade. This section of the M1 cannot accommodate current traffic volumes and, as a result, experiences frequent and prolonged periods of congestion and poor travel time reliability.

Work is being undertaken on the Pacific Motorway, Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade, to improve 8kms of the Pacific Motorway (M1) between the Gateway Motorway and Watland Street.
Tin Can Bay Road and Bayside Road, construct roundabout
Construction will commence this year on a new roundabout at the intersection of Tin Can Bay Road and Bayside Road, at Tin Can Bay.
Warrego Highway (Ipswich - Toowoomba), Bremer River Bridge, strengthening
The Bremer River Bridge project includes critical rehabilitation and strengthening repair works, including bridge re-decking, to extend the life of the existing westbound bridge structure.
