Achievements

We conducted research into bicycle friendly business accreditation programs worldwide and considered how elements of existing programs could be applied in Queensland.

We identified common features of bicycle friendly businesses and bicycle friendly business accreditation programs and profiled noteworthy programs. We interviewed staff from bicycle friendly business accreditation programs to learn of resourcing requirements and challenges of implementing and maintaining an accreditation program.

Next steps

We will engage with Queensland businesses to assess options for supporting them in providing a welcoming environment and facilities for people arriving by bike, and publish a resource to inform businesses how they can become more bicycle friendly.
