Overview
Action 4.3: Research national and international best practice and the opportunities for recreational trails development in Queensland and publish the findings.
Lead agency: Department of Transport and Main Roads
Status: Being finalised
Achievements
We commissioned consultants to create a marketing concept and implementation plan to develop and promote a selection of Queensland's best recreational trails.
This involved research to gain insights on market perceptions and the drivers of trails experiences, associated opportunities for Queensland, and to stress test creative marketing concepts.
As a result of this work, we identified a preferred unified marketing approach and five priority trails for further investigation.
Next steps
We will do more market testing and feasibility assessments on the five priority recreational trails and prepare an implementation plan to develop and promote these trails during 2023.
